let's hear it for New York, New York, New York!

(note: this was ready to post last week, but for some reason, it was never posted, oops)

Wow! We had a awesome trip to New York to visit with some of Keoni's cousins! I was a little fearful of the trip (the long drive) , but Malia was perfect. Because of her ability to ride in the car for over 8 hours, Keoni and I feel this will give us more freedom and opportunities to travel and visit family and friends in the future!!
We drove up after work on Thursday night to stay with Poppop. The three of us packed up the Subaru and departed for Bellport around 9am Friday morning and arrived a little after 5:30. We had a few stops along the way to feed and change diapers, but all in all, a smooth ride! Here are a few pictures of our drive up to New York:

this picture cracks me up- it looks like Cookie Monster is going to attack Malia

Saturday and Sunday we were with the cousins! We were able to catch up and just relive some of the good 'ole days. It was nice to hear stories about Keoni... there is this great picture that I've promised not to put on the web (will use as blackmail ) of Keoni when he was a kid- needless to say, it's a good thing I saw this picture before we got married!

Saturday night we had some fresh mozzarella and PIZZA! Unfortunately for Malia, she is still on a strictly breast milk diet, so she was unable to 'enjoy' the pizza and would much rather sleep:

We can't wait to see our cousins in August as well as meet the new addition- baby DeVito!!

Next weekend we are going to Keyser, WV for Easter. Malia is FINALLY going to meet her Great-Great- Grandparents!!

lunch break post

Wow, it has been way to long since I last blogged! I know I asked for accountability, but man, it's been over a month. Let's face it, everyone only really reads your blog to see the pictures that are posted! Keoni's computer is the 'keeper of the photo's', so I finally stole some last night, which prompted me to blog.
I've also decided that I might find more time blogging while on my lunch break! I find that if I stay in the office and eat, I spend less money and eat healthier... or attempt to eat healthier!

So here is the long awaited updated on our small family of three!

MALIA:
She is changing and growing day by day. She is developing her own little personality and it is absolutely adorable. She loves to stick EVERYTHING in her mouth, but her favorites are her little fingers and blankies. We have tried to break her sucking thumb habit by quickly giving Malia her passie, but no more than 5 seconds goes by and that passie is rolling on the floor.
Malia had her 4 month check up about two weeks ago. Keoni and I couldn't wait to see how much our little porker weighed. Before Malia's appointment, we had the family guess her weight and height... here are the results:

Granddad~ 17 lbs 15 oz 24 1/4 inches
Grandma~ 16 lbs 4 oz 25 inches
Mommy~ 15lbs 2 oz 25 1/2 inches
Daddy~ 17 lbs 6 oz 25 1/4 inches
Uncle Jack~ 18 lbs 1 oz 23 1/2 inches
Auntie Julie~ 17 lbs 8 oz 24 inches
Auntie Amanda~ 17 lbs 7 oz 24 3/4 inches
Auntie Allie~ 16 lbs 9 oz 24 1/2 inches

and the results:

Weight: 13 lbs 7 oz ~ 45th percentile

Height: 23 1/4 inches ~ 15th percentile

Needless to say our little porker isn't really porky the pig, nor does it look like she is going to be in the WNBA. The doctor said her weight gain is right on track! If I can ever figure out this whole blogging thing, I'll make a poll for her weight gain at her 6 month check up!

Here are just a few pictures of Malia from the past couple of weeks:

She doesn't like this nearly as much as I do!

KEONI and MEGHANN:

Keoni just recently got a job offer from Army JAG! We couldn't be more excited for this opportunity. Keoni has always wanted to serve our country. We will keep you posted once we know more- November time frame.

I'm still working full time. The recent health care bill has really made my life crazy both in and outside of the office. I am still getting my life 'back together' since having Malia... not sure what 'back together' really means, but it's working!

We are off to New York this weekend to visit with family! Check back for a blogging about our first MAJOR adventure with the little one!
